Call Me...Please!









I guess these are "call girls". Bill Ward was a master of drawing a voluptuous babe, one often in a state of undress. I first encountered the distinctive "good girl" stylings of Ward in the pages of Cracked magazine where he was the regular artist for the Nanny Dickering features. Soon enough I found his particular presentations of love dames in many another magazine here and there and yonder. His Golden Age Torchy a standout for certain. Some of his stuff is a bit too rough for my personal tastes, but I don't judge. Above are lovely ladies in lingerie who just have to answer their phones. If one of them is named "Watson", it's no wonder Alexander Graham Bell wanted her.
